My Bio

Few Words About Me

Hi my name is Samantha Stewart

Ever since I was a little girl, it was my dream to compete at the Olympics.
I tried my hand at a number of sports growing up, but I didn't truly find my passion until I started wrestling in 2003. I was born and raised in London, Ontario and moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2009 to take advantage of new opportunities. It was then that I became a more well-rounded athlete and began competing internationally. Since then I have become a 9x National Medallist, been named Most Outstanding Female Wrestler in Canada twice, and was the Rio 2016 Olympic Alternate. Despite seeing both domestic and international success, I am still working towards my ultimate goal of wrestling at the Olympic Games. I approach each training session with that dream in mind and every day I come closer to making it a reality.

2016

Senior National Champion
&
Most Outstanding Female Wrestler

2016

Senior Pan-American Champion
&
Canadian Olympic Alternate

2014 & 2016

2x World University Championships Medallist

Here are some fun facts about me:
  • Favourite Wrestling Move - Suplex
Just call me "Sammy Supes" - My friends at Flowrestling do!
People like to use that affectionate nickname to describe my dynamic and explosive wrestling style also coined from the signature move.
  • Favourite Season - Autumn
I love it when the trees change colour. It's just beautiful to go hiking when the trees are every shade of yellow, red, and orange.
  • Favourite Shows - Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece
I've really gotten into anime - especially the shonen-style series Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece. I find them really action-packed, full of hilarious quips and quotes, and the artwork is awesome.
  • Guilty Pleasure - Salt & Vinegar Kettle Chips with Nutella on them <3
Definitely my go-to cheat treat when I'm having cravings. It's the perfect combo of salty and sweet with the added contrast of crunchy and creamy. I'm a huge foodie and I love any opportunity to dine out - both the familiar and comforting favourites and adventuring to try new flavours or dishes.
